In Washington state all homeschooling costs are out-of-pocket expenses with no reduction in taxes for support of the secular public education system. Each state has its own and often very different laws.

In my state I can claim a certain amount of money a year per child and receive money back on my taxes.

I could also receive $50.00 a child from my school district for any expenses I may incur homeschooling but I choose not to do that. They can dictate and decide if the books you used is within their "guidelines" for reimbursement.

I would rather choose my own books, thank you very much! Mr. Green

Yeah, once the govt. starts to pass out money it is not long before they fell like they own it and can tell ya what to do.
