Statement of Faith

Jesus is Lord is operated by Christians and is based on Christian principals.

1. "Ministry of Reconciliation"
We believe John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the (people of the) world, that He (God) gave His (God’s) only begotten Son (Jesus Christ), that whosoever believeth in Him (Jesus Christ) should not perish (die the second death), but have everlasting life. For God sent not His (God’s) Son (Jesus Christ) into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him (Jesus Christ) might be saved.”

2. Saved by Grace
We believe that we are save by grace; not by works according to Ephesians 2:3-9 “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come He (God) might show the exceeding riches of His (God’s) grace in His (God) kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

3. Virgin Birth
We believe that Jesus was born a virgin birth of Mary, according to Matthew 1:18-25. “Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as His (Jesus Christ’s) mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord (God) appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son (Jesus Christ), and thou shalt call His (Jesus Christ’s) name JESUS: for He (Jesus Christ) shall save His (Jesus Christ’s) people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a Son (Jesus Christ), and they shall call His (Jesus Christ’s) name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn Son (Jesus Christ): and he called His (Jesus Christ’s) name JESUS.”

4. Atonement
We believe that Jesus Christ was beaten and killed for the purposes stated in Isaiah 53:4-5 “Surely He (Jesus Christ) hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him (Jesus Christ) stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He (Jesus Christ) was wounded for our transgressions, He (Jesus Christ) was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him (Jesus Christ); and with His (Jesus Christ’s) stripes we are healed.”

5. Resurection
We believe that Jesus was resurrected according to Matthew 28:1-20 “In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His (the angel’s) countenance was like lightning, and his (the angel’s) raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He (Jesus Christ) is not here: for He (Jesus Christ) is risen, as He (Jesus Christ) said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell His (Jesus Christ’s) disciples that He (Jesus Christ) is risen from the dead; and, behold, He (Jesus Christ) goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see Him (Jesus Christ): lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring His (Jesus Christ’s) disciples word. And as they went to tell His (Jesus Christ’s) disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held Him (Jesus Christ) by the feet, and worshipped Him (Jesus Christ). Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell My (Jesus Christ’s) brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see Me (Jesus Christ) . Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and showed unto the chief priests all the things that were done. And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, Saying, “Say ye, His (Jesus Christ’s) disciples came by night, and stole Him (Jesus Christ) away while we slept.” And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you. So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day. Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. And when they saw Him (Jesus Christ), they worshipped Him (Jesus Christ): but some doubted. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto Me (Jesus Christ) in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (the Holy Trinity): Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I (Jesus Christ) have commanded you: and, lo, I (Jesus Christ) am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

6. Ascention
We believe that Jesus went to heaven according to Mark 16:19 “So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, He (Jesus Christ) was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.” And Luke 24:50-51 “And He (Jesus Christ) led them out as far as to Bethany, and He (Jesus Christ) lifted up His (Jesus Christ) hands, and blessed them. And it came to pass, while He (Jesus Christ) blessed them, He (Jesus Christ) was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.”

7. Miracles
We believe that Jesus Christ performed all the miracles claimed by the K.J.V. Holy Bible and more than were written according to John 21:24-25 “This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true. And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.”

8. Rapture
We believe that Jesus will ‘rapture’ the Church according to I Thessalonians 4:14-18 “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him (Jesus Christ). For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

9. Thousand Year Reign
We believe that Jesus will return to earth to rule of a thousand years according to Revelation 20:4-6 “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him (Jesus Christ) a thousand years.” And after that will be the final kingdom of God according to Revelation 22:5 “And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.”

10. Works
We DO NOT believe that we are saved by works. We do believe that faith without works is dead according to James 2:26 “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

11. First Fruits, Tithes, and Offerings
We believe that God should be given ‘first fruits, 10% tithe, and offerings’ according to Malachi 3:8-10 “Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in Mine (Gods) house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
