 | ... and i thought waiting for Christmas morning was hard. lol |
You said it! But that is something to be anticipated isn't it, because when it does happen, all saved will be with Him for eternity! Heavenly blessings galore. I shall be SO truly happy to be done with this sin nature which often trips me causing me to fall flat on my face, spiritually speaking.
Don't you find it overwhelming that all we have to do to be cleansed of sin is to tell God that we did whatever it was? Then our slate is clean and we are right back in fellowship with Him again! It is so simple that it completely eludes many perople. They often think the have to DO SOMETHING - work - for their forgivness, not realizing that Christ paid that price for them on the cross. Ephesians 2: 8, 9 tells us "For by GRACE are ye saved through FAITH; and that not of [from] yourselves: it is the GIFT of God: Not of works, lest [so that] any [you] man should boast."
We are saved by grace through faith, which is a gift given us by God so that we can be saved! Grace and faith can NOT BE BOUGHT! It is a GIFT! Best gift I ever got I can tell you. : )
I was astonished when I read Rev. 20: 13 and found that we all (saved and unsaved) are judged according to their works! Not their sins - their works! It reads "... and they were judged every man according to their works." These works are not works for salvation and forgivness but rather for the purpose of bringing souls to Christ, after we have become saved. These are works for the cause of Christ - not for the cause of salvation.
There are those who say but it says we are judged for our works, not realizing that those works are those Christ
told us to do -
after salvation! We are to witness to others, telling them how to be saved, teach them the Word of God and acts of charity etc. These works are not those done to be SAVED! To be saved all one does is agree with God that Chirst is His Son who died as a propituation for us.
(pro·pi·ti·a·tion (pr-psh-shn) KEY
NOUN:
The act of propitiating.
In this case the propitiation was Christ. This means that Christ
satisfied the price to God the Father, for
US. Christ was the conciliatory offering to God for us.
Understanding propitation frees us to worship God with no fear of
not having Christ as our Savior. To be saved all we do is agree with Him (God) that Christ is His Son, and tell Him we want Christ as our Savior. It is so easy that many people can not believe it is so simple as that. I think that is why so many make salvation so hard - they can not accept the simplicity of it!
All our past sins are forgiven when we first believe and tell God we want Christ as our Savior. Any sin committed from that point on must be named to God the Father (see Matt. 6:9 pray "Our Father")then it is removed from us as far as the east is from the west! He remembers it no more. Awesome!
I do go on, don't I? That is because I like telling the salvation story!
Have a good day Goober!
